Essentials of Web Development

Introduces design and development of visually effective and functional websites in an enterprise environment. Concepts may include the history of the Internet and the World Wide Web; the Hypertext Markup Language and Cascading Stylesheets; design principles; information architecture and page layout; effective integration of graphics and media in websites; use of development software and browsers; accessibility issues; site testing; the development process and site maintenance issues; search engine optimization and site promotion. Laboratory use of software is an integral part of this course.

Server-Side Web Programming

Covers strategies for developing maintainable and efficient server-side Web applications. Topics include object-oriented methodology, server-side scripting languages, sessions, database integration with web applications, and web site security.
